SAFe Advanced Scrum Master Certification Training

The SAFe Advanced Scrum Master Certification Path is delivered as a modular and blended learning experience, blending self-paced and instructor-led elements, as well as peer-to-peer learning. The elements of the learning path are:

Advanced Facilitator Micro-credential: Conflict and Collaboration

  • Self-paced learning (2 hours)
  • Facilitated workshop (4 hours)

SAFe Skills (self-paced)

  • Measuring Team and ART Flow (1 hour)
  • Accelerating Team Flow (1 hour)
  • Cultivating High-performing Teams (1 hour)

Learning Lab (4 hours)

  • This path supplies blended learning and a chance to apply what is learned in SAFe Skills rather than concentrating all learning on the time spent sitting in a course.
  • Additionally, the learning focuses on the skills someone practices in their role. In our traditional certification assessments, Scaled Agile tests the knowledge and application of the SAFe role. The assessment for an advanced certificate is the practice session where the facilitator has a rubric that is followed to confirm the learners skills.
  • This path is meant to help someone advance while they are also continuing to be on the job and to fit those working-while-learning needs. It demands slightly fewer hours than a two-day course plus exam might; several of those hours can be done as self-directed learning.

No, there is no formal exam associated with this course. From Scaled Agile:

A certification exam, for our traditional instructor-led courses, tests a learners knowledge. These assessments are best when we want to determine who is minimally qualified (those who do pass vs those who do not pass). In the case of Advanced Scrum Master, we are strongly recommending that an ideal learner is a certified Scrum Master/Team Coach. This certification covers the knowledge one would need coming into the course.

The Advanced Scrum Master Path is designed to assess a learners skills and abilities (their knowledge has already be tested) which is why the skills, micro-credential course and learning lab all focus on a learners ability to demonstrate through activities, breakouts and rubric-based assessment when going through the learning lab case studies.

No, Scaled Agile does not enforce taking the elements of the path in a particular order.
